SUstainable Development of the European MARitime sector

The SUDEMAR project has the primary goal of raising awareness about sustainability within the maritime sector. It aims to support the implementation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the maritime industry by creating educational resources and technical tools targeted at professionals and companies in the sector.

The key components of the project include creating a database that compiles the best practices of sustainable development within the maritime sector. Following this, an E-learning course on sustainable development will be developed; an educational platform offering online courses on sustainability for professionals in the maritime industry.

The final project component is an app that supports the implementation of sustainable development goals within the maritime sector. The app will serve as an advisory tool for its users.

The project aims to strengthen sustainability in the maritime sector through education, awareness, and the implementation of concrete solutions based on the UN’s SDGs.

OPTIMISM - Online Program for Training in International Management of ISM

A 3-year project has begun with the aim of addressing the limitations of the ISM Code (International Safety Management), which, although designed to ensure safety at sea and prevent pollution, cannot guarantee improved safety.

To achieve this, the project will develop a comprehensive online training program that not only covers the requirements of the ISM Code but also includes relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards, such as ISO 9000 and ISO 14000.

The project’s activities include an extensive review of the ISM Code’s requirements and relevant amendments, along with research methods involving case studies, interviews, surveys, and document analysis.

The expected outcomes include the creation of a competence-based online course, complete with a new assessment system, aligned with international credit and certification standards. Ultimately, this initiative aims to enhance safety and environmental awareness and compliance within the maritime industry, benefiting both professionals and the environment.
